Honest Hound is written by Michael Probert, a lifelong pet owner who started the site after bringing home his own dog and finding the internet was one big upsell — loud rankings, thin advice, and no one you could obviously trust.

A lifelong pet owner, including years alongside his Manchester Terrier. Michael writes from hands-on experience combined with careful, sourced research. He's an experienced owner, not a vet — and says so plainly.
How we work
We're a research-led site. Our health, food and safety guidance is drawn from and cross-checked against trusted veterinary sources — the AVMA, AKC and peer-reviewed research — and we always point you to your own vet for anything specific to your dog.
